ABOUT US

Our Team

Dr. Gaffar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering/CIDSE at Arizona State University, USA. He Received his PhD in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, focusing on interaction design and HCI. His research centered on Artificial Intelligence and deep learning, human cognitive abilities, human-centered design, and usability engineering. Dr. Gaffar is also certified project manager (PMP), and he combines project management principles and tools with human-centered design methods to plan, manage, and deliver software successfully. He worked in the industry for several years as a senior designer expert in Palo Alto, CA, as well as in Germany and Canada focusing on Interaction Design of complex industrial software and hardware systems. As a professor at ASU, he’s currently leading a team of researchers to build an intelligent vehicle to reduce driver distraction and fatalities on the road He’s also leading other AI research projects including autonomous vehicle, advanced medical diagnosis, and intelligent social robots.
